Brake is a leading, government-funded national provider of specialist support to bereaved and seriously injured road crash victims. The support from Brake is delivered in partnership with every police force in the UK. This provision further enhances the services the Commissioner provides to victims within his victims commissioning responsibilities.

The aim of the activity is to provide young people with an opportunity to comment on various elements of policing to help inform the work programme for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The Independent Custody Visiting Scheme is a statutory Scheme under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act Part 3 Section 299 whose responsibility and oversight lies with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, in consultation with the Chief Constable.

The contract is awarded for two (2) years with the option to extend for two (2) additional annual periods. On 24 February 2015 the Commissioner approved the report to award Tenderer A Lot 1 and Tenderer B Lot 2. Standstill letters were issued to the two tenderers on 26 February 2015 informing them of our intention to award. On 3 March 2015 notification was received via the e-tendering portal that Tenderer B was withdrawing their tender submission for Lot 2.

Consideration has been given to the current service provision in Gwent as well as the requirements under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 when distributing funding.

Tenderer C (Shred-it Ltd) scored the highest following the completion of a Most Economically Advantageous Tender process. The contract is awarded for three (3) years with the option to extend for an additional one (1) year period.

Tenderer A scored the highest for Lot 1 and Tenderer B scored the highest for Lot 2 following the completion of a Most Economically Advantageous Tender process.The contract is awarded for two (2) years with the option to extend for two (2) additional annual periods.
