The Commissioner has been asked to approve the amendments to the Manual of Corporate Governance to support his decision making process and to reflect the changes made after the completion of the Stage 2 Transfer process.

The information contained in the Legal Expenses Reimbursement report has been subjected to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 1998 and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwents public interest test and is deemed to be exempt from publication under sections 3 and 4. Once the final version has been approved the document will be published.

Home Office Circular 43/2001 outlines the Home Secretary's approval of guidance to police authorities (the guidance has transferred to Police and Crime Commissioners since November 2012) on financial assistance to officers in legal proceedings. The same arrangements will also apply to Police Staff.

The Independent Custody Visiting Scheme is a statutory Scheme under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act Part 3 Section 299 whose responsibility and oversight lies with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, in consultation with the Chief Constable.
