Commissioner publishes first annual report
The annual report, dated from when the Commissioner took up post in November 2012 until June 2013, details important aspects about the role of the Commissioner and his Office.
The report, which can be found online and includes information on the Commissioner's role, his work to date and also his priorities for the future including his Police and Crime Plan; detailed budget breakdown; his staff; details of the Police and Crime Panel; Engagement; Partnership and Collaboration; Performance Monitoring and Scrutiny and, Partnership and Collaboration.
The publication of the Annual Report is necessary as part of the Governance framework for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. Police and Crime Commissioner Ian Johnston said: "The publication of the annual report enables members of the public in Gwent to find out about different aspects of my role and that of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and to see what my priorities are, to see how we are performing against them and also for our plans for the future up to April 2014. I remain committed to delivering an efficient and cost-effective policing service for the people of Gwent and will continue to work hard to improve the levels of service provided"
