The Police and Crime Commissioner is pleased to note the high standard of perforamnce in this area.

The Independent Custody Visiting Scheme is a statutory Scheme under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act Part 3 Section 299 whose responsibility and oversight lies with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, in consultation with the Chief Constable.

The Third Sector Fair provides an opportunity for statutory organisations to engage with and develop services with the Third Sector in Gwent.

The Chief Executive for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent is able to undertake decisions on urgent matters in accordance with Part 3c, Scheme of Consent and Delegation, Paragraph 9 of the Manual of Corporate Governance.

The contract is awarded for a period of 8 months.

Awarding of the Partnership Fund falls under the Commissioner's power to provide Crime and Reduction grants under Chapter 3, Section 9 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.

Following a public application process to the Fund throughout February and March 2015, stage 1 ahortlisting against the application criteria was completed. Applicants who met the criteria moved to stage 2 which consisted of an evaluation enquiry where their applications were presented to a Funding Adjudication Panel who undertook a rigorous assessment of all bids received.
