The Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales conducted a compliant open OJEU tender, naming Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent as a party allowed to use the contract. This contract was awarded to the supplier Victim Support. The contract commenced on the 01/04/2019 for an initial period of three years until 31/03/2021, with the option to extend for a further three (3) years on an annual twelve (12) month basis.

The advertised length of contract for this requirement was for three initial years, with an option to extend for one year.

The Commissioner is satisfied that the complaints examined had been dealt with appropriately by the Chief Constable.

After approval from the Police and Crime Panel on 12th August 2019, the Police and Crime Commissioner has appointed Ms Pamela Kelly as Chief Constable of Gwent Police.

Decision log PCCG-2019-031 records my decision to provide Crimestoppers Trust and St Giles Trust funding to continue delivery of interventions in 2019/20. Further to that i have decided to also provide non-recurrent funding to: Barnardo's - £147,356 * To deliver one-to-one support to young people aged 11-15 and their families to prevent their involvement in serious and organised crime. Newport Live - £21,090 * To provide diversionary sports activities for young people to prevent their involvement in serious and organised crime.

The Joint Audit Committee Annual Report for 2018/19 was produced to coincide with and support the publication of the Statement of Accounts.

The Independent Custody Visiting Scheme is a statutory Scheme under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act Part 3 Section 299 whose responsibility and oversight lies with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, in consultation with the Chief Constable.

The initial contract will be for 36 months with an option to extend for a further two twelve month periods.
