Based on the progress and performance of this intervention during 2022/2023, the PCC has decided to extend this pilot project by one year. The following funding will be awarded for 2023/2024.

Newport City Council - £123,457

The pilot project builds into the existing Safeguarding Hub response to safeguarding in Newport.

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to provide £25,000 to the Gwent High Sheriff's Community Fund for 2023/24, with an option of match funding up to an additional £25,000. A further £15,000 to support year 1, 2 and 3 of the Superbid will also be provided.

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to award grant funding from the PCC Police Community Fund to three projects totalling £142,189.19. Additionally, nine projects funded in previous years  2021/22 and 2022/23, were in principle awarded year two or three funding, subject to satisfactory reporting and continuing compliance with terms and conditions of grant. This brings the allocation of 2023/24 funding to a total of £335,824.22.

The Commissioner is required to determine the budget for 2023-24 and then set the council tax precept in consultation with the Police and Crime Panel.

The Commissioner is satisfied that the complaints examined had been dealt with appropriately by the Chief Constable.

The Joint Audit Committee Annual Report for 2020/21 was produced to coincide with and support the publication of the Statement of Accounts

Treasury Management covers borrowing, investing, banking and cash flow management.

The Commissioner is required to adopt and comply with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) Prudential Code for Capital Finance in Local Authorities and the CIPFA Code of Practice on Treasury Management. The Treasury Management Strategy 2023/24 to 2025/26 and the Treasury Management Practices have been agreed in order to comply with the codes.
