The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent is leading the  joint commissioning of Women and Young Adult Services on behalf of the Commissioning Partners which include the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales, HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) in Wales and Welsh Government. The Framework agreement will run for a period of 12 months – 12^th February  2024 to 11^th February 2025.

The Commissioner is required to determine the budget for 2024-25 and then set the council tax precept in consultation with the Police and Crime Panel.

Gwent Police need to replace their existing CEDs by March 2025 due to their end of life.

The Independent Custody Visiting Scheme is a statutory Scheme under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act Part 3 Section 299 whose responsibility and oversight lies with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, in consultation with the Chief Constable.

The Commissioner is required to adopt and comply with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) Prudential Code for Capital Finance in Local Authorities and the CIPFA Code of Practice on Treasury Management. The Treasury Management Strategy 2024/25 to 2026/27 and the Treasury Management Practices have been agreed in order to comply with the codes
