Multi-agency safeguarding hubs launched across Gwent

Safeguarding hubs that will help vulnerable adults and children access the services they need to keep them safe have launched across Gwent.

Each county in Gwent has its own hub that brings together agencies including the police, local authorities, health and education, the probation service and voluntary sector to ensure that those who need help receive support as quickly as possible.

The launch of the new hubs follows successful pilots in Blaenau Gwent, Newport and Torfaen which have all reported improvements in the quality and timeliness of information shared between partners, leading to better outcomes for those who need support.

Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Eleri Thomas said: “Some of the most complex problems facing our communities can only be addressed by taking a partnership approach.

“These new hubs will allow the police and partners to work more closely to together and to offer targeted, early intervention to our communities, providing a more efficient and effective service, and ensuring that the right help is available to those who need it most.”
