Commissioner supports Black History Cymru 365 launch

8th October 2026

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd has supported the launch of the 2026 Black History Cymru 365 programme.

Black History Cymru 365 is a year-long celebration of Black history, culture and music in Wales.

It recognises the significant contributions that people of Black heritage have made throughout Wales’s history and continue to make to modern society.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “I am delighted to support this year’s Black History Cymru 365 launch.

“Wales is an increasingly diverse country, and it is important that we take time to recognise and celebrate the significant contributions made by our ethnic heritage communities.”

The Black History Cymru 365 programme provides opportunities for communities across Wales to learn, connect and celebrate together throughout the year. It also encourages greater understanding of Black history and ensures that the experiences, achievements and lasting influence of Black people remain visible and valued.
