BBC documentary follows lives of trainee officers in Gwent
A new series of Rookie Cops airs on Monday 9 September at 8pm on BBC One Wales.
All eight episodes will also be available on iPlayer from Monday.
The series follows the lives of eight trainee Gwent Police officers, following them through their training and onto the streets as they work to protect and reassure their communities.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “I was honoured to join the trainee officers featured in Rookie Cops, and their families, to view the first episodes and I was very impressed with what I saw.
“All too often we forget that our police officers are real people who joined the job because they want to do the best for their communities.
“This documentary series gives a real insight into what life as a new police officer working in the communities of Gwent is really like. I hope that it will help people to understand to real trials and challenges that our police officers must face every day.”
