The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to award grant funding from the PCC Community Fund to five organisations from the 2019/20 fund totalling £112,122.22 and two organisations from the 2018/19 fund totalling £45,958.82.

The following projects funded in 2018/19 have in principle been awarded year two funding subject to satisfactory reporting: Duffryn Community Link - £25,058.82 Creazione in Community - £20,900 2019/20 Grant Awards (October – March 2020) County in the Community - £11,807.50 towards the Premier League Kicks project in Ringland, running from 1st November 2019 to 31st October 2020. Weekly sessions will be provided on a Thursday outside of school hours. Learning opportunities will also be provided to improve young people’s development and wellbeing. Cymru Creations - £25,000 to deliver the Blaenau Gwent Film Academy project from 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2020, which will include the opportunity for young people to create a series of short films focusing on current issues and concerns. Cwmbran Centre for Young People (CCYP) - £40,314.72 towards the delivery of the Open Access Drop in Project from 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2020. This will include provision of a drop in facility five nights a week within a safe environment, that provides tailor made services, activities and support, with counsellors and mentors available to young people attending. Alway Amateur Boxing Club - £20,000 to deliver the Stop Stabbing Start Jabbing project on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm – 7pm and Saturdays 10am – 2pm, from the 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2020. This project will provide boxing / mentoring programmes to those people at risk of entering the criminal justice system or who have been young victims of crime. The Gap Wales - £15,000 to deliver the Sanctuary project from 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2020, working with young asylum seekers and refugees, providing them with relational, holistic support, advice and social activities.
