The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to award grant funding to three organisations totalling £128,020 from the PCC Police Community Fund.

The organisations successful in their funding bid are: Regener8 Cymru - £70,000 towards a Healthy Relationships Project which will deliver sessions to young people at schools, youth clubs, youth offending services, colleges etc. on the following topics: Respectful Relationships, Domestic Abuse, Gender Stereo Typing, Sexual Consent, Sexting, Pornography, Sexual Exploitation and Perception. Urban Circle Productions - £48,620 towards a U Turn Project which will use different forms of creative arts to tackle multiple social problems affecting vulnerable young people. The project will work with partners to plan and organise various events and workshops (e.g. Halloween Event and Project Elev8). Provide training on life skills and offer the opportunity to gain qualifications in various aspects (e.g. First Aid, Safeguarding and Youth Work. Newport Women’s Aid - £9,400 towards the Aspire Youth Zone which will provide a space for children and young people aged 11-16 who have been affected, exposed to and influenced by domestic abuse. Positive mentors will also be provided and the project will dovetail into existing partnership activities with Barnardo’s and the Women’s Pathfinder Diversion Scheme, providing an integrated and co-ordinated family support service that will engage and support vulnerable families.
