Trinity Fields cadets celebrate with passing out parade

Children from Trinity Fields School’s police cadet unit celebrated the completion of their cadet course with a passing out parade.

The pupils have been working with Gwent Police’s Next Gen team to find out more about the police and complete activities to help them become more confident and build their skills.

Trinity Fields is the first specialist SEN school in Gwent to join the Volunteer Police Cadet Scheme and has been working with Gwent Police since 2019.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “It was a real honour to join the children for this special celebration. They have really done themselves, their families and their school proud.

“Gwent’s cadet scheme helps to build trust and confidence between the police and young people. It also helps them to build their skills and confidence in a fun and engaging way. This is particularly important with a school such as Trinity Fields, as these children are some of the most vulnerable in our community.

“Well done to all the cadets for their hard work!”
