Coleg Gwent Wellbeing Festival
I was delighted to attend Coleg Gwent’s wellbeing festival at the Ebbw Vale Learning Zone this week.
The event was one of three wellbeing festivals that have taken place at Coleg Gwent’s Learning Zones in recent weeks. I am pleased that my team has attended all three.
The events provided opportunities for my team to engage with more than four hundred young people, raising awareness of issues such as Violence Against Women Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence, drink spiking and cyber safety.
A vast range of community safety items were given out including bottle stoppers to prevent drink spiking, UV Pens to mark valuable items, and information and advice for Live Fear Free, the 24/7 helpline to provide support helpline for anyone experiencing domestic abuse or sexual violence.
Talking, listening, and making a connection with young people is so important in understanding what matters most to them. My office is committed to listening to the voices of children and young people in both educational and community settings.
