The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to award grant funding from the PCC Police Community Fund to four projects totalling £81,109.90. Additionally, six projects funded in previous years 202021 and 2021/22, were in principle awarded year two or three funding, subject to satisfactory reporting and continuing compliance with terms and conditions of grant. This brings the allocation of 2022/23 funding to a total of £270,493.53

The successful grants are listed below:
Cefn Golau Together (Blaenau Gwent)- £11,574 towards the Nip it in the Bud Project. The project will run activities for the whole community but with specific projects for families, children and young adults to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing whilst promoting a sense of community belonging, mutual respect and responsibility.
Newport Yemeni Community Association (NYCA) (Newport) - £43,070 towards a NYCA Youth Empowerment Programme which will provide a preventative programme providing options for the young people to get involved, engaged and empowered to make positive life choices.
County in the Community (Newport) - £11,307.50 to deliver the Premier League Kicks Project in Ringland. Weekly sessions will be provided on a Friday outside of school hours and in school holidays
Empire Fighting Chance (Torfaen) - £15,158.40 to provide the Fighting Crime in Torfaen Project. The project will combine non-contact boxing and intensive personal support, for young people from Torfaen who are at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Young people will be recruited via referral partners, including schools, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Gwent Police and be referred to one of two programmes,
