Towards the Blaenau Gwent Film Academy, which will include the opportunity for young people to create a series of short films focusing on current issues and concerns e.g. focusing on anti-social behaviour and the immediate plus long-term effects it can have.

Organisation: Senghenydd Youth Drop in Centre

Purpose:
To provide a youth and community worker to offer outreach and youth centre-based activities for young people and their families, who are at risk of committing / recommitting or becoming victims of crime / anti-social behaviour.

Newport.
Purpose:
Towards a Saturday Kids Club for children and young people from ages 5 to 16 years based within the BAME community.  This will provide a safe environment for young people to develop, participate in placement opportunities, improve self-esteem and confidence as well as promote positive relationships between communities.

Organisation: Cyfannol Women’s Aid

Purpose:
To expand the Assertive Outreach Project to include a specialist Youth Worker with domestic abuse experience. The Youth Worker will provide support to young people (predominantly ages 16 to 24) both at the time of crisis, as well as providing follow up support to ensure the young people are linked in with the appropriate services.  The intervention will support young people to be safer and feel more supported in leaving abusive relationships.

Purpose:
To provide diversionary activity through the Dance & Enhance project which will be holding dance and fitness sessions.  The project will also be working with excluded young people and will be free of charge to all who attend.  It will be open on weekdays, weekends and school holidays.  The project will also be providing awareness sessions on topics such as alcohol abuse, impacts of poverty etc., that will aid community cohesion and provide early intervention opportunities to ensure participants have improved wellbeing and awareness of life choices.

Purpose:
Towards the provision of a Detached Youth Worker who will engage with the harder to reach young people, who do not participate in the centre-based provision that the organisation offer.  Through this avenue the young people can be provided with support and diversionary opportunities. The project will be working alongside specialist agencies to encourage young people to turn their back on alcohol and drug abuse.
