Youth Work Week 2022

23rd June 2022

It’s Youth Work Week! An opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work of youth workers and youth organisations across Gwent.

Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Jeff Cuthbert said:

“I am privileged to be able to fund a wide range of youth projects that help children and young people live safer lives.

“I know, only too well that nurturing young people reaps huge rewards for both the young person and society.

“Youth workers play an integral role in helping to shape the lives of young people. No matter how big or small the interaction, I know it leaves a lasting impression.

“From playing football in a youth club, providing opportunities to try something new or being a friendly face in a scary situation, youth workers are our unsung heroes.

“I would like to thank everyone who takes the time to listen, encourage and support young people; without your dedication some young people would be at risk of becoming involved in negative behaviours which can lead to a life of crime.

“My Police Community Fund provides organisations with funding to help young people live safe, healthy and happy lives. I encourage any group that would like to benefit from the funding to visit my website for more information.”
