Welcoming new officers

20th September 2021

The Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Eleri Thomas, has welcomed 31 new police officers into Gwent Police.

The officers have completed their training and will now be deployed with policing teams across Gwent’s five counties.

They form part of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s commitment to increase police officer numbers in Gwent.

Eleri Thomas said: “The new recruits have worked hard during their training, under particularly difficult circumstances, and the hard work, dedication and commitment they have shown is to be commended.

“The public deserve the very best service from policing and I know that these new officers will strive to do all they can to help ensure that Gwent continues to be one of the safest places in the UK to live, work and visit.”
