Police and Crime Commissioner welcomes anti-racism plan
Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Jeff Cuthbert, has welcomed the draft Police Race Action Plan released by the National Police Chiefs Council and College of Policing.
The draft plan sets out the commitment of chief constables in England and Wales to become an anti-racist police service and to explain or reform race disparities.
It has been published for the public to review and make comments before it is finalised in December.
Jeff Cuthbert said: “Policing must rebuild trust with Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority communities.
“We are already working collaboratively between the four Welsh police forces to make improvements within our own organisations, and this plan is further reassurance that policing is committed to change.”
