New officers report for duty

I am pleased to welcome 34 new police officers and 13 community support officers into Gwent Police.

The officers have completed their training and will now be deployed with policing teams across Gwent’s five counties.

I have committed to increasing police officer posts in Gwent and I am proud that today we are in a much better position than when I was first elected in 2016, with more than 200 extra police officers serving our communities.

I wish the new recruits all the best for their future careers.
