New cohort of special constables join Gwent Police

I was delighted to join the Chief Constable and her senior officers to welcome seven new special constables into Gwent Police this week.

The new officers made their oath to the King and will now go on to support policing teams across Gwent.

Special constables are volunteer officers who give up their personal time, unpaid, to protect residents and serve their communities. They have full police powers and work alongside regular officers to keep Gwent safe.
