Knife Crime Awareness workshops

1st December 2022

I am extremely pleased that thousands of young people from schools, colleges, and youth groups across Gwent have participated in knife crime awareness sessions by Fearless.org throughout November to coincide with the Knife Angel’s visit to Gwent.

The sessions aim to inform young people about the dangers of knife crime, reinforcing the key message that there is no safe place to get stabbed and what to do in an emergency.

Funding from my office helps Fearless to provide workshops to young people and professionals that focus on issues that both Gwent Police and I are committed to tackling in Gwent, such as serious-organised crimes, county lines, and reinforcing the importance of reporting crimes.

I am pleased to hear the sessions received positive feedback from schools, colleges, and parents.
