Empowering half term activities for girls in Blaenau Gwent
During half term young people from Blaenau Gwent took part in a Girls Day at Abertillery Youth Centre.
The session hosted by Blaenau Gwent Youth Service, Positive Futures, Aneurin Leisure, and local organisations provided young people with an opportunity to try out a range of activities.
The day aimed to increase confidence and empower young people to learn new skills in a safe environment.
I am pleased to fund Positive Futures. The organisation also supports local authorities to provide much needed detached youth work sessions in towns across Gwent.
Detached youth work or community-based youth work provides young people with a friendly face and a trusted source of help and advice to young people who may be at risk of being involved in anti – social behaviour.
