Commissioner visits community events across Gwent

13th August 2024

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Jane Mudd, has been visiting community events across Gwent to speak to residents about their priorities for policing.

The Commissioner has attended engagement events in Newport, organised by the Ethnic Minority Youth Support Team (EYST), Newport Yemini Community Association’s festival in Pillgwenlly, and Blaenau Gwent County Council’s family fun day in Ebbw Vale.

The commissioner’s team has also supported community events in Bargoed, Brynmawr, Caerphilly, Pontypool and Trethomas.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “I have had a fantastic week travelling around Gwent, meeting residents, and listening to their thoughts and concerns.

“Gwent is a very diverse area, and it is vital that I hear voices from all communities across its five counties. I am keen to be a visible presence and my team are regularly out speaking to residents on my behalf. This continual conversation is crucial to ensure that people have their voices heard.

“If you haven’t done so already, please take a few minutes to complete my survey, have your say, and help me to develop my priorities for policing in Gwent and help me to make a difference to our communities.
