Celebrations at Bryn Farm Community House
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Jane Mudd, joined young people and their families at Bryn Farm Community House in Brynmawr to celebrate the outstanding commitment of volunteers.
The celebratory event was also an opportunity to unveil a new mural which was designed and painted by children and young people with the help of local artist Shanti Ray. It was painted as part of the Brynmawr Interact project, which receives funding from the commissioner’s office to provide opportunities for children and young people to learn new skills.
The Commissioner was also shown around the new community garden which has helped young people find a new love for the outdoors and learn about the importance of food and where it comes from.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “Bryn Farm Community House is providing the community with a safe and happy space, and the Brynmawr Interact volunteers are an asset to the area.
“I am proud that my Police Community Fund is supporting some of the initiatives that are making a huge difference to children, young people and their families in Brynmawr, encouraging the community to learn new skills and raise aspirations.
“I look forward to returning soon to lend a hand in the community garden.”
