Blaenau Gwent Children’s Grand Council
I was pleased to receive questions from the children attending Blaenau Gwent Children’s Grand Council about issues that are important to them.
The Blaenau Gwent Children's Grand Council brings together children from primary schools across Blaenau Gwent and provides a platform for them to have their voices heard and gain information about a variety of important issues.
My team and officers from Gwent Police recently led a community safety workshop at Grand Council, working with pupils to identify safe spaces in their communities and discussed issues that are important to them.
Following the session I was delighted to received 3 excellent questions relating to:
- Anti-social behaviour in local parks
- The use of vapes by young people
- 20mph speed limit
I worked with the Blaenau Gwent Neighbourhood Inspector to get answers to the questions and I was very happy to record a short film that was shared with the pupils at their meeting in June.
I look forward to receiving more questions in the future from children and young people across Gwent.
