Young people enjoying a summer of fun in the Aber Valley
Children and young people in the Aber Valley in Caerphilly are being kept busy this summer with a programme of events run by the Senghenydd Youth Drop In Centre (SYDIC).
They have been enjoying arts and crafts, trips to go quad biking, visits to escape rooms and even a tour of the BBC studios in Cardiff.
The sessions aim to engage with local children and young people, and to give them positive activities to take part in during the summer holidays. This helps to keep them from being drawn in to possible anti-social behaviour, while building their skills and confidence, and making new friends.
SYDIC receives support towards its youth services from my community fund. Directing money received through proceeds of crime back into communities is just one of the ways we are making a difference to residents across Gwent.
