Spooktacular Halloween event in Blaenavon

1st November 2024

Community Support Officers in Blaenavon have been helping children to carve their pumpkins ready for Halloween.

The local police team held a spooky Halloween event at Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall, and as well as pumpkin carving there was a fancy dress competition and Halloween games.

The event aimed to give children something fun and positive to channel their energy into in the run up to Halloween.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “It was lovely to see the local police team in Blaenavon putting on this special event for children in the town. Events like this help to break down barriers between children and the police and show them that the police are safe faces in their communities that they can trust.

“Halloween is one of the busiest times of year for Gwent Police, and it can be particularly worrying time if you are vulnerable or live alone. Organised events like this allow children to enjoy some spooky fun in a safe and secure environment.”
