Out and about with Caerphilly officers
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd joined officers from the neighbourhood policing team in Caerphilly for a ride-along around the town.
The Commissioner heard about some of the challenges experienced by the local police during Halloween and in the run up to bonfire night.
They also discussed how the police are working with local businesses to tackle shoplifting and retail crime.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “It was really interesting to spend time with the local police team in Caerphilly and hear firsthand about some of the challenges they are facing in this area.
“I was particularly pleased to hear that officers have good relationships with some of the local primary schools and have done some fantastic projects in recent years that have helped to bring the community together.
“This work helps to break down barriers between the police and children which will hopefully help to address issues of crime and antisocial behaviour in the long term. I look forward to undertaking more of these visits in the coming months.”
