Out and about: Tredegar

Off-road bikes continue to cause frustration. I was pleased to hear that positive action is being taken by officers and partners to tackle the issue not just in Blaenau Gwent but across all boroughs of Gwent.

Other issues such as parking and anti-social behaviour are all causing distress to residents. This is something we are actively trying to tackle with our partners in the local authority.

We recently invested money from the Home Office’s Safer Streets fund into a dedicated youth worker post to try and engage with young people in areas of Tredegar where ASB has been reported.

All these issues cannot be tackled by Gwent Police alone. I know Gwent Police are working with partners to deal with the problems.
