New Police Community Support Officers report for duty

6th May 2025

The latest class of 16 Gwent Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) have completed their training and will be deployed to neighbourhood policing teams across Gwent.

The new PCSOs will join teams in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen to continue their learning, and further develop their skills and expertise.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd joined the new PCSOs, their families and Gwent Police colleagues for a formal passing out parade, which marks the end of the officers’ initial training.

She said: “It is always a privilege to join officers and their families to mark the completion of their training. They have worked hard and can now look forward to starting what is a really diverse and rewarding career.

“Chief Constable Mark Hobrough and I are committed to increasing police visibility in Gwent and these PCSOs will provide some extra resistance to our neighbourhood policing teams across Gwent. I hope our residents will make them very welcome in their communities.”
