New Heddlu Bach unit in Blaina

The OPCC team joined Gwent Police to welcome the new Heddlu Bach Mini Police unit at Berea Mosque in Blaina on Monday.

Police and Crime Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert said: “The Heddlu Bach scheme is a fun, interactive way for children to learn new skills, gain confidence in their abilities and play an active part in their local community.

“It builds trust and confidence between the police and children from an early age, while also helping to create a greater sense of cohesion within the wider community.

“I am proud that here in Gwent we have the first Heddlu Bach scheme in the UK to be based within a mosque and look forward to hearing more about their work in the coming months.”
