New Gwent Police officers report for duty
The latest cohort of 51 Gwent Police student officers have completed their training and will be deployed to communities across Gwent.
They will join teams in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen to continue their learning, and further develop their skills and expertise.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd joined the new officers, their families and Gwent Police colleagues for a formal passing out parade, which marks the end of an officer’s initial training.
She said: “Every one of these officers has worked incredibly hard to reach this important milestone and should be very proud of what they have achieved.
“Chief Constable Mark Hobrough and I are committed to increasing police visibility in Gwent and these officers will play an important part in delivering on this commitment. They will now join their colleagues across Gwent, and I hope they will be made very welcome in our communities.
“Policing is an incredibly challenging but very rewarding career, and I wish these officers the very best for the future.”
