Engaging with Monmouthshire’s veterans
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) has been engaging with veterans in Monmouthshire.
The team gave a talk to members of the Monmouthshire Veterans’ Support Hub, which is based in the St John’s Ambulance Hall, Abergavenny. They discussed the role of the OPCC and talked to members about the Commissioner’s new Police and Crime Plan which will set out her priorities for the next four years.
The Monmouthshire Veterans’ Support Hub launched in 2022 and supports the armed forces community in all aspects of their lives.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “Engaging with our armed forces veterans is so important. These are people who have served their country, risking their lives to keep us all safe. As a society we have a duty to recognise their service and ensure they receive help and support if they need it.
“As I develop my new Police and Crime Plan, I am keen to hear from as many people as possible. My team and I have been out and about across the region, visiting events and speaking to groups to better understand peoples’ experiences of policing in Gwent. You can also have your say online so please take a few minutes to complete my survey, have your say, and help me to make a difference to our communities.”
