Disability in policing conference

I was pleased to attend a conference this week that explored disability in policing. Although this was a national conference it was partially organised by Gwent Police, with Deputy Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman taking a leading role.

As well as hearing many personal testimonies from attendees we looked at how we can improve accessibility for those with disabilities, and what more we can do to support officers and staff. We are always striving for improvement and will take the shared learning and best practice examples from this conference to see how we can improve further.
