Commissioners sign Memorandum of Understanding with Welsh Government

19th March 2026

A Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Welsh Government and Policing in Wales has been signed.

The memorandum, singed by Wales’s four Police and Crime Commissioners, confirms a shared commitment to continue working in partnership to meet the needs of people across Wales.

It sets out a joint pledge to deliver for victims and survivors of crime, take a trauma‑informed and evidence‑based approach, adopt anti‑racist principles, support strategic decision‑making, and protect communities throughout Wales.

Jane Mudd said: “With the future changes for policing in Wales still unclear, it is more important than ever that we reinforce our commitment to our residents that it remains business as usual.

“We have a strong partnership with the Welsh Government, developed over many years, and we will continue to work together to deliver the best service for the people in our communities.”
