Commissioner visits fleet workshop
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd has visited Gwent Police’s fleet workshop in Llantarnam, Cwmbran.
The purpose-built facility is home to Gwent Police’s team of engineers and services a fleet of more than 500 vehicles.
It aims to future proof Gwent Police’s in-house vehicle maintenance capability, which saves money and enables a quicker turnaround to ensure that vehicles can be back out on the road as quickly as possible.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “I was greatly impressed by the facilities at Gwent Police’s fleet workshop and it was lovely to meet the staff and engineers who work so hard behind the scenes.
“Part of my job as Commissioner is to ensure that Gwent Police has the resources needed to do the best possible job on behalf of residents, and also that residents are getting value for the money they contribute to policing through their council tax each month.
“Having spent time at the workshop I am reassured that here in Gwent we have a team of highly skilled people, at the top of their field, working hard to support our front line officers and keep us all safe.”
