Commissioner joins children and young people for cultural celebration
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd joined residents from across Gwent for a community led, cultural fashion show at the ICC Wales.
The show was organised by charity KidCare4U and brought together children and young people from different communities for a celebration of their culture, heritage and traditional dress.
KidCare4U is supported by the Commissioner’s Community Fund, allowing it to run a youth club every Saturday. As well as activities that encourage children and young people to keep healthy, build their confidence and make friends, the club also provides extra educational support for those who need it.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “It was a truly inspiring evening and lovely to see the proud faces of the children and young people as they showcased their traditional dress and cultural heritage.
“Coming together and celebrating our cultural differences helps us to build more cohesive communities. This was a fantastic event that Gwent can be incredibly proud of, and I must congratulate everyone who worked so hard to make it such a success.”
