Commissioner congratulates police cadets
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd has congratulated the latest group of Gwent Police cadets who formally ‘passed out’ this week.
As police cadets, children and young people have the opportunity to learn about policing, take part in a range of activities to grow their skills and confidence, and support the police at community events.
There are cadet units are based in Newport, Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Caerphilly and Ebbw Vale.
Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Mudd said: “Congratulations to all the cadets that passed out this week. I hope that we will see many of them go on to pursue a career in policing but the skills they have learnt during their time as a cadet will serve them well for whichever career path they choose in the future.
“Becoming a cadet is a great way to give something back to your community, build your skills, make friends and have fun and I would urge young people with an interest in the police to take a look and see what it can offer you.”
