Behind the Badge 2022

More than 20,000 residents from across Gwent attended Gwent Police’s Behind the Badge event this weekend.

It is the first time the event has been held since the pandemic and it was fantastic to see it return.

I was very pleased to contribute funding to help make the event a success. Breaking down barriers between the police and communities, and building trust and confidence in policing, is a key part of my police a crime plan for Gwent.

This event brings communities and the police together and gives residents a chance to meet the real people ‘behind the badge’ that work every day to keep them safe.

I would like to thank everyone involved in putting on this event, and everyone who turned out to support it on the day.
