Two duties are placed on public authorities under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Under the provisions of those sections of the FOIA, we can confirm that the information you seek is partly held by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent.
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent (OPCC) and Gwent Police are separate organisations. We do not hold the information in the level of detail requested but have answered as best as we are able to. You have requested the following information:
1] How many officers received any kind of disciplined sanction from 2019-2022 year as a result of a complaint of (i) racism, or (ii) sexism and what was the result of that disciplinary action?
No Information held. The OPCC are not involved in misconduct processes as under police complaints legislation this needs to be dealt with by Gwent Police, as such, this information would need to be requested directly from them. 2] How many complaints of (i) racism and (ii) sexism were made to Gwent Police Crime Commissioner about Gwent police officers from 2019-2022?
The OPCC are not the appropriate authority for dealing with complaints against police officers other than complaints against the Chief Constable of which no complaints were made. However, we do receive quarterly reports from the Force Professional Standards Department at the Strategy Performance Board, although we don’t have total figures for the time period requested.
