Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Two duties are placed on public authorities under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Notwithstanding applicable exemptions, the first duty at, Section 1(1) (a), is to confirm or deny whether the information specified in a request is held. The second duty at, Section1 (1) (b), is to disclose information that has been confirmed as being held. Under the provisions of those sections of the FOIA, we can confirm that the information you seek is held by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent. Please find response below.

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide me with full details of staffing changes within the OPCC since the election in May.

  1. Number of staff hired, including job titles and salaries

 

2 members of staff have been appointed since the PCC election in May 2021.

 

1x Digital Media Apprentice (arrangements to appoint to this role had commenced prior to the election).  The apprentice works within the OPCC but is employed and paid for by Gwent Police.

1x Head of Strategy.  This is not a new role, the previous post holder resigned prior to the election and the recruitment process to fill the position was finalised after the election.

  1. Number of staff made redundant or who have resigned or retired, including severance payments

 

Staff made redundant = 0

Staff retired = 0

Staff resigned = 1 (Head of Strategy).  No severance payment was made.
