The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to award Serious Violence Duty Intervention Funding for 2024/2025

It was agreed that the following allocations be made to partners:

Newport - £39,600

Nighttime economy Ambassador service in the city centre on Friday and Saturday nights between 8pm and 4am.

 

Caerphilly

Nighttime Economy Serious Violence Project to reduce serious violence and violence against women and girls - £4,000

Specialist Therapeutic Counselling for children who have been victims of sexual violence - £10,000

Street Doctors violence reduction programme - £10,000

 

Torfaen - £18,000

Play and Breakaway young people’s restorative justice sessions.

 

Monmouthshire - £28,940

Serious Violence Prevention in Schools.

 

Partnership Project across all Local Authorities and Youth Offending Services (YOSs) - £33,000

 Virtual Reality ‘Virtual Decisions’ programme aimed at schools and YOSs across the whole of Gwent.

 

Blaenau Gwent - £24,000

Funding has been ringfenced for the delivery of SVD interventions in Blaenau Gwent.  Funding will be awarded in due course pending the submission and review of proposals from Blaenau Gwent.  In the event no proposals are received, remaining resources will be allocated across other partners.
