The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent has agreed to award grant funding to three organisations totalling £39,154.50 from the PCC Police Community Fund within the final six month period of 2018/19.

The successful applicants which I have authorised 1 years funding for are listed below: Xcelerate Youth - £12,000 towards a family worker / counselling practitioner who will work alongside children with challenging behaviours and their families. The projects aims will help prevent and / or avert anti-social behaviour, provide victim support, help to positively develop young people and improve community cohesion. Duffryn Community Link - £24,904.50 towards youth workers, venue hire, equipment and activity costs for the Youth Link project. The project will provide diversionary out of school hours and holiday activities for young people aged 8 – 16 years old whilst also supporting, engaging with and encouraging young people to make positive contributions to their community. Drop in facilities for 11 – 18 year olds will also be available to identify individual or group problem areas; providing positive workable solutions on a group or one to one basis. Volunteering Matters - £2,250 towards the Safe Male Film Project which expands on their Safe Male project which works with men aged 16 – 35 with learning needs and disabilities. This is a peer led project that delivers workshops on safe relationships, consent, internet and personal safety, sexual health, mate crime and exploitation in a totally accessible and inclusive way. The Safe Male Film Project will involve the men in developing a short film to raise awareness of appropriate sexual health and relationships for men with disability and highlight the dangers and pitfalls of exploitation especially around Mate Crime.
